Quick info on what sort of health problems you might come across in a Scottie
Scottie cramp - an hereditary neurological problem whereby the hind legs cramp and can stiffen, rendering the dog immobile and, if severe, cause the dog to fall over. Problem disappears after a few seconds but can be brought on again by stress or excitement.
Epilepsy - can be either inherited (common cause if the onset is at an early age) and environmental (common if the fits start when the dog is older).
Skin problems - varying from mange to demodex to immunity problems causing open skin wounds.
Patella Luxatie - loose knee-disc causing the dog to hop and skip occasionally.
C.M.O. - Scottie-jaw - excessive bone growth in the jaw when young - can be painful.
